Consultation: Fostering Fees and Allowances

Posted on: 11 October 2018

UPDATE: The new Fostering and Fees Allowances Model was unanimously approved by cabinet on 10th October 2018.  You can watch the meeting here.
Thank you to all carers and staff who participated in the process.  Work will continue over the coming months as we head towards implementation in January 2019.

Devon County Council is proposing to spend an extra £1 million on foster carers’ fees in order to target care for vulnerable children more effectively and boost recruitment.

The proposal follows an extensive review of their current fees and allowances, and months of work with foster carers to identify a new fairer system. Download copies of the information boards here.

The consultation will be carried out through a series of events for foster carers, and a decision is planned to be made later in the autumn.
