New foster carer rates

Posted on: 10 November 2014

Fostering Devon provide all of their foster carers with a full package of financial and professional support, allowing them to concentrate on being the best carers possible.

We pay a generous allowance to cover the expenses of caring for a child or young person and the time spent looking after them, payments are made direct into bank accounts on a weekly basis.

The allowance depends on the kind of fostering you do and the needs of the child or young person you care for.  Allowances can be as much as £530.95* per week, per child depending on the age and needs of the child.

The Inland Revenue gives generous tax benefits to foster carers and you may also qualify for some state benefits.

* recommended allowance for children and young people aged 8 – 15 yrs with complex behavioural and emotional needs.

To find out more about becoming a carer, and the allowances paid, please phone 0345 155 1077 for a confidential chat.
